Play Readings take place at UNIT 13, JOHN STREET, SHEFFIELD, S2 4QU.

When you arrive at HARLAND WORKS, go through the gate. You will see a set of steel stairs on your right. Go up the stairs. At the top you will see a panel with buttons to buzz. Press the button for ZAG YOGA (Unit 14) FOR CLASSES. Press UNIT 13 FOR PLAY READINGS.

Go through the door and close it behind you. Take the stairs UP on the RIGHT. Turn RIGHT and follow the corridor to the END.

PARKING:

There is free parking around the area. Most roads have pay parking (£0.50 hour) on one side of the road and free parking on the other side.

The Actors Works is an open and supportive set of classes for actors and performers to hone and grow their skills, build professional and supportive networks and expand their practice. We also welcome directors, writers and producers.

We welcome people of all levels from backgrounds in professional and amateur work, from age 18 upwards.

Yes, our classes are structured so that they build upon each other, but are also accessible even if you haven’t been to the others.

Yes! Whilst The Actors Works is primarily aimed at performers, people who want to gain performance skills or better understand the actor's process are welcome.

No. We all take different paths to becoming a performer. Some of these will be formal training, some won’t.

The classes involve a lot of movement, so wear clothes you can stretch and roll around in.

Bring water, a towel, a notebook and pencil or pen.

If you aren't able to attend a class you have booked for, please let us know as soon as possible.

You will be issued with a refund if you let us know more than 24 hours before the class takes place.

If you are feeling unwell, or showing the symptoms of COVID (with or without a positive test), it's best you don't attend the class.

The nature of the classes would mean that it could be easy to infect other people. You also won't be able to get the best out of the class.
