CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

THE PLAY

"Think of all the lies I got to put up with! - Pretences! Ain't that mendacity? Having to pretend stuff you don't think or feel or have any idea of?" Big Daddy

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is considered one Tennessee Williams's masterpieces. It takes place in the house of the Mississippi Delta's wealthiest cotton tycoon. Over the course of one hot summer night, the play explores the dark underbelly of the American South and themes of greed, decay, sexual desire and repression.

The play was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama 1955.
